Life is tolerable when at least there’s a glimmer of hope to cling to, but when hope is absent, life becomes brutal, empty and dark. Even those things which represented joy and happiness in our childhood, such as Christmas, now are consumed by hopelessness. The mystical peace behind the Christmas season has been replaced by the anxiety of how will I survive.
But, what if your hope could be restored?
What if Christmas 2011 became a breath of fresh air?
I believe with all my heart that hope can be restored to you. In fact, I believe it so passionately that the church I pastor, Orlando North Community Church, is dedicating the entire Christmas season to the message of ‘Restoring Hope’. Please consider joining us for one or all of these special services as we present the amazing message of hope.

about

A couple months ago the staff of Orlando North Community Church sat together to discuss the upcoming Christmas season, and all we would like to see happen through our church during this time. As we chatted we began to realize that the last several years have been uniquely difficult on an abnormally large group of people. The status of our culture economically has led many to a place of financial hardship, relational neglect, and emotional chaos.
Because of the stress that comes with all of this Christmas no longer carries the joy and mystique it once did. The beauty and warmth of Christmas, for many, has been replaced by fear and anxiety. The traditions that once brought smiles, are now masked by the reality of not having enough to pay tomorrow’s bills.
Many in our community are facing this reality right now, and as a result find themselves with a peculiar, and unwanted feeling – hopelessness. When hope is taken from us it’s tough getting up in the morning. If there’s nothing to tell us it’s going to get better then we lose all motivation to proceed.
As our staff sat in a room discussing this very topic we knew that hope is not lost. It may be hidden in the lives of those who are struggling, but it’s still there. Christmas is a season where hope can be restored, and we wanted to present that message to all who find themselves hopeless. Hope is not found in the celebration of Christmas. Hope is found in Jesus, the one whom the Christmas celebrations are centered around.
For four Sundays (11/27, 12/4, 12/11, 12/18) we are going to present a series of four talks that will convince you not only that hope is still available, but it’s something that can once again become a reality in your life this Christmas season. Please join us for any, or all, of these Sundays, and give God a chance this Christmas to show you the genuine love he has for you. When you understand that love, I promise, your hope will be restored.
Our church meets on the second floor of the Sihle Insurance building located at 1021 Douglas Ave. in Altamonte Springs. Our worship service starts at 10:30 and are completely casual (jeans, shorts, etc.). If you’ll give God one, or even all four, of these Sundays I know he’ll do something you didn’t think possible in your lives.
We also would like to welcome you to our special one-hour candlelight Christmas Eve service on December 24th at 5:30 PM. Kick off your Christmas festivities with us as we get together for a beautiful Christmas kickoff.
